Happy New Year! 2017's looking a bit more minimalist and my skin approves. This year is all about healthy glowing skin and makeup trends are finally saying adios to layers and layers of makeup thanks to ingenious new releases that promise skincare and makeup in one product. While this is hardly a new concept, this year's trend focuses on an overall healthy look and glow while using multipurpose products. The result is an ultra clean look that's edgy paired with messy hair and a monochromatic outfit.
For me personally, I'm going toward a super minimalistic look this January. I have yet to get my hands on the latest multipurpose releases so I just shopped my stash.
Top to bottom: MAC Face and Body Foundation N3, Benefit High Beam, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Sand, Daiso Automatic Eyebrow, Maybelline Brown Matte Burgundy Blush and Nude Embrace, Smith's Rosebud Salve.
I start with a clean and primed face then I mix a few drops of Mac Face and Body and High Beam together on my palm and apply with my Beauty Blender to get the most natural finish. Next, I cover any spots and discoloration with the Fit Me and add more highlighter for extra dew and glow. I have thick eyebrows so I just fill them in and smooth them out with a dab of Rosebud Salve. I also put the salve on my eyelashes after curling. Finally, I apply nude lipstick and press it into my lips to make it look the most natural. I'll dab a darker lipstick on top if I want wor depth or I'll go full on burgundy lips if I'm feeling dramatic. Here, I just did the regular, clean, glowy look. My hair is messy on purpose because I purposefully do not own a comb.
I looked down to try and capture the definition in my lashes. I put the salve in them for everyday instead of mascara to condition them.
It was nice just sharing this look with you! Maybe this can be a monthly thing on the blog. If any of you out there would like to share the looks what you've been rocking lately, feel free to post in the comments. :)
Have a great day everyone!
