Why hello! I'm sure you've also seen a lot of these on my feed. Obviously, I love Avene products and always have them on hand. I was introduced to the brand back in early 2015 while in Singapore. A kindly Filipina SA introduced me to the basic Cleanance range, which is for acne prone skin. At the time, I was battling mild adult acne. She even gave me lots of tiny samples of their other products. My addiction to Avene was planted firmly then.
Anybody who has ever asked me what is the best brand to battle acne or what brand to best serve sensitive skin, knows that my answer is always Avene. It is only when they start flinching at the high price tag that I refer other brands. I always try to justify the investment by testifying of my experience with the brand. Such is my passion. Hehe! If you scroll all the way back to the earliest posts on this blog, you will see Avene products.
Allow me to justify the price once more..the full size products are HUGE. It could easily last you about 6 months of twice a day usage. The products are EFFECTIVE, based on my personal experience and everyone else I know who swears by the brand. Let me tell ya, DERMATOLOGISTS swear by Avene! Also, this may be superficial but it's a legit reason to purchase anything nowadays; the products are so INSTAGRAMMABLE. There, i said it.
Enough persuasion. Here are my current favorites from the brand:
Extremely Gentle Cleanser Lotion - (sample size) - Believe me, this isn't the only tiny bottle I have of this. I still have about 5 backups of these thanks to generous SAs who shower me with samples every time I make a purchase. This is a no rinse cleanser that is similar to Cetaphil or Physiogel, if you're more familiar with those. What I like about Avene's version is that it does not leave a weird film after I tissue this off unlike Cetaphil's or Physiogel's similar type cleansers. It doesn't sting either.
Gentle Milk Cleanser - After receiving a sample of this and loving it to bits, I fell in love with the idea of cleansing milks as a cleanser. Yes, Avene's was my first ever cleansing milk. After trying lots of other brands, I still go back to this one. The Face Shop makes a close contender in the Rice Water Bright Cleansing Milk, but this one is definitely more soothing and fresh feeling after use.
Thermal Spring Water - Now this has been a constant. I've always had a bottle of this at home ever since I started using the brand. I've tried other thermal waters from Uriage and La Roche Posay; they just aren't as healing as Avene's. Now I've read and even heard 'exclamations' that thermal waters are just expensive bottled water..maybe for those other brands it is. With this one, it really does soothe and heal skin irritations. After the one time I over-exfoliated and everything I would put on my face literally burned, even tap water stung! This was the only thing my skin could tolerate. After that experience, this one earned a permanent spot not only on my vanity, but in our family medicine box! This treats rashes!
Light Hydrating Cream - Also one of my first loves from Avene thanks to a very nice sample I used. Smooth, hydrating and can easily be layered. Perfect texture moisturizer in my opinion. I still haven't found a replacement tube. The one I have here is just a deluxe sample size. I couldn't find any full sized tubes of this in the stores. :(
Micellar Lotion - I think I've gone through about 4 bottles of this before the Garnier Micellar Water came to the PH. This was one of the only legit micellar waters available back then! I would decant the liquid to the small sample bottles for travelling because this water micellar is really potent! It CAN take off waterproof mascara. I'm thinking of investing in a full sized bottle again, actually.
So those are my current favorites and the satchets in the foreground are more samples! I actually have more of these, I just didn't include them in the photo. This time, these are samples of the Rich Hydrating Cream which I have yet to try.
If you are interested in trying out Avene products, they often offer starter kits or sets that are very good value. For example, this Hydration Starter Kit was only PHP557! Avene also offers a very good range of products for sensitive acne-prone skin called, Cleanance. That range saved my skin 2 years ago. Also, don't be shy about asking the Avene SAs for samples of the products you would like to try! They are very generous with the samples you know!
Do check out Avene at SM Beauty, select Watsons and Mercury Drug stores, or your dermatologist. Clearly, I cannot recommend these enough!
Have a bright day ahead!
