The whole of July has been all about a light base. I've been using nothing but Maybelline Super BB Cream. Luckily I didn't get any major blemishes last month so I didn't have the need for heavier coverage, and what was good about this BB was that it was hydrating enough without looking too greasy. My skin had been mostly dehydrated and flake-y and QuickFX No Shine Mattifier has been my go-to primer because it isn't entirely matte looking and powdery. Sad to say, it does contradict from the claims on its packaging, but somehow it all works out for me. And anyhow, whenever I needed to add 'dew', I pressed a bit of MAC Strobe Cream into my skin for a lit from within glow.
Summer, and my tan, is officially over and I've been warming up my skin daily with the only bronzer I have, which is Beneft Hoola. I've been really appreciating the warmth it adds to my BB-fied skin, which can look pasty thanks to the high SPF. Lastly, I've been prepping my lips with Beach Born Bam Balm, which smooths and hydrates the lips without any shine. The sticker peeled off from the tube unfortunately. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Berlin has been on my lips for the majority of July, either dabbed on or applied full-on. The brownish red shade is flattering and versatile, and very easy to dress up or down.
Having combination skin, still, I have to keep actual sebum 'dew' from taking over eventually as the day wears on. I keep that in control as well as keep my makeup (the little that's on)intact with a dusting of ELF HD Pressed Powder.
So you see, I've had incredibly low-key makeup last month and will probably continue to do so this August, save for a pop of eye shadow or blush on special days. However, I do feel a bit bored with what's going on and would like to get some new thingies to play with. How about you? Who else is posting July Makeup Favorites?
